Several .nc1 files, one bar program.

Fusion NC1 combines DSTV files of the same profile into a single file for your beam line. The holes, marks and contours of each part are shifted to their position on the bar, then the file is read back before you save it.

Windows 10 and 11. Full demo, no credit card. A licence is required to save the merged file.

  • 5 files W8X31
  • 20 ft bar (6096 mm)
  • Kerf 12.7 mm
  • Drop 1365 mm (22%)

Tested in a shop

On a job of about seven days of cutting, total cutting time was cut in half, with no extra programming time.

Fusion NC1 has been used on a BeamCut line, on real jobs.

The gain depends on your parts: many short parts on long bars give the best results. With long parts there is almost nothing to group. Try the demo with your own files.

What you see in the software

The two screens below use the files from the example: five W8X31 parts on a 20-foot bar.

Preview before merging

It updates as soon as you change a quantity, the order of the parts, the kerf or the bar length.

  1. TotalsNumber of parts, length used, drop and waste percentage.

  2. Bar to scaleEach part carries its number. Copies of the same file share a colour.

  3. DropThe remaining length is shown before cutting.

  4. PositionsStart and end of each part, in millimetres or feet-inches.

Check after merging

The file created is read back by the software before you save it.

  1. Parts and positionsThe list of parts placed on the bar, with their starting point.

  2. Hole checkHere, 29 holes found, each in its part's zone. Any difference is shown in yellow.

  3. Drawing by faceTop flange, web and bottom flange, drawn from the generated file.

Why group the parts

Most detailing software exports one .nc1 file per part. To cut several short parts from the same bar, you otherwise have to work out the positions by hand or load one bar per part.

Separate files

One bar loaded per part

  • One program per part
  • Positions to work out in order to group
  • Drop known only after cutting

Merged file

The five parts on one 20-ft bar

  • One program for the whole bar
  • Positions calculated with the kerf
  • Drop shown before cutting

How it works

You keep your current exports: Fusion NC1 reads standard DSTV files and slots into your workflow without changing anything.

Detailing softwareExport .nc1Fusion NC1Beam line
  1. Add the files

Drag the .nc1 files into the window. The quantity is read from each file and can be changed.

  2. Set up the bar

Kerf, stock length and order of the parts. The preview follows every change.

  3. Merge and save

The file is created, read back, then saved wherever you want. A CSV or printable report is available.

Features

If a file contains an unreadable line or a different profile, the merge stops and the message names the part involved.

Operations shiftedHoles (BO), marks (SI, KO, PU), outer (AK) and inner (IK) contours.
File checkThe generated file is read back: length, number of holes per part and a drawing of each face.
Several barsWith a stock length (20, 30 or 40 ft, 6 or 12 m, or any other value), the parts are spread over as many bars as needed. One file is created per bar.
Angled cutsKept at the start and the end of the bar. A part with an angled cut placed in the middle is refused.
UnitsDisplay in millimetres or feet-inches, to 1/16 in.
ReportsCSV export for Excel and a printable sheet with the part numbers.
Micro-joint experimentalUncut tab between two parts, on rectangular contours only.
No other softwareFusion NC1 installs on its own. No add-on or extension to buy.
Local processingYour files stay on your computer. No internet connection is needed to merge them.
Four languagesFrench, English, Spanish and German, each with its own number format.

Your files stay with you

Fusion NC1 works entirely on your computer. Your fabrication drawings never leave the shop.

Limits and requirements

Worth checking before using the software in production.

Current limits

  • All parts on one bar must have the same profile.
  • Fusion NC1 carries over holes, marks and contours. A less common DSTV operation (SC, TO, KA…) is flagged as soon as the file is added: nothing slips through unnoticed.
  • Every beam line has its quirks. Run a first test on a scrap piece before production.
  • Your files fall outside this? Send them to us: we adapt the software to your format and you get a new version. That is the advantage of a tool developed and supported directly.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work with my beam line?

Fusion NC1 produces a standard DSTV .nc1 file, the format read by most beam lines. As every machine has its quirks, try the demo with your files, then cut the first program on a scrap piece.

Do I need any other software?

No. Fusion NC1 installs on its own. You only need the .nc1 files your detailing software already exports.

Which detailing software is compatible?

Any that export DSTV .nc1 files. The simplest test is to open a few of your files in the demo: a file that cannot be read is flagged straight away.

What can the demo do?

Everything except saving the merged file: adding files, preview, spreading over several bars, checking and reports.

Is an internet connection required?

No. The software works offline, including licence activation. Your files are never sent online.

What happens when the licence ends?

The software returns to demo mode: preview and checking stay available, but not saving. A new key re-enables saving.

What languages is the software in?

French, English, Spanish and German. The language is detected from Windows and can be changed in the window.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, under our refund policy.
